Senior Day will be Sunday vs. Indiana
MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 9 Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-7, 10-4 Big Ten) are in the final six games of the 2022 regular season. Minnesota will host Maryland on Friday night (6:30 p.m.) and Indiana on Sunday (2 p.m.) for senior day to close out its home slate. B1G+ will stream both matches, with Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Lori Thomas (analyst) set to call the action on Friday night. The broadcasters are TBD on Sunday afternoon.

• The University of Minnesota is hosting four separate athletic competitions on campus on Friday, Nov. 11, as women's swimming, men's basketball, volleyball and men's hockey all host home events that night. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive on campus at least 45 minutes prior to the event to help ensure that they will not miss a moment of action at the Pav. Surrounding parking lots open at 3:00 p.m. for those fans who want to arrive extra early.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Gophers swept Michigan on Friday night, getting 20 kills from Taylor Landfair and 11 kills and four blocks from Carter Booth. CC McGraw paced the backcourt with 17 digs.
• Minnesota won a five set battle with Illinois on Sunday, getting 14 kills and nine digs from Jenna Wenaas as the Gophers edged out the Illini 15-13 in set five. Landfair had 19 kills, Shaffmaster had 43 assists, 18 digs.
SCOUTING MARYLAND
• Maryland is led by head coach Adam Hughes, who is in his fifth year at the helm of Maryland volleyball. The Terps won 19 games last year, the program's most since 2010. They're looking for a marquee win in 2022.
• Rainelle Jones ranks second in the Big Ten with 1.63 blocks per set while Anastasia Russ ranks fourth at 1.49. The Terps are the top blocking team in the country at 3.34 blocks per set.
• Maryland defeated then No. 9 Purdue 3-0 for its only ranked win of the year. The Terps hold Big Ten wins over Rutgers, Northwestern and Iowa twice.
SCOUTING INDIANA
• Indiana is led by fifth-year head coach Steve Aird, who has led the Hoosiers to a 13-13 (6-8 Big Ten) record. IU has won B1G games against Maryland, Iowa, Michigan State (2x), No. 25 Michigan and Rutgers this fall.
• IU leads the Big Ten in service aces per set, led by Camryn Haworth, who ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 0.41 aces per set. Mady Saris ranks seventh in kills per set with 3.66.
HISTORY VS. MARYLAND AND INDIANA
• The Gophers are 14-0 against the Terps all-time, with all the matches coming since 2014 when Maryland joined the Big Ten. In those 14 matches, 11 of them were decided in three sets.
• Minnesota is 60-16 all-time against Indiana, including a 14-1 mark under Hugh. The lone loss came in 2014, a four set loss. The Gophers have won 11 in-a-row in the series, taking nine of the contests in three sets.
FIVE SENIORS TO BE HONORED SUNDAY
• The Gophers will celebrate senior day on Sunday after the Indiana match. Naya Gros (MB, Grad.), Miranda Wucherer (S, Grad.), Ellie Husemann (MB, Sr.), Rachel Kilkelly (DS, Sr.) and CC McGraw (L, Grad.) will be honored. MCGRAW MOVES HER WAY UP RECORD BOOKS
• CC McGraw now ranks No. 4 in Gophers history with 1,809 digs. CC is now 191 digs away from becoming just the 10th player in B1G Volleyball history and second Gopher ever to reach 2,000 in her career.
• McGraw ranks 22nd among active Division I players in digs and first in the Big Ten.
• In three of her four seasons, McGraw has made Minnesota's top-20 list for most digs in the season. In 2018, she had 428 (18th), 450 (16th) in 2019 and a career-best 510 in 2021 (12th). She's the second Gopher to have three-or-more seasons with 400-or-more digs. So far in 2022, McGraw has tallied 254 digs. .
GOPHERS IN B1G PLAY
• Under Hugh McCutcheon, Minnesota is 156-46 (.772) in Big Ten competition. In his 10 seasons prior in charge, the Gophers have had nine seasons above .500 in conference play. In nine of those seasons, the 'U' went 15-5 or better in conference play, with the best being 19-1 in 2018.
• Minnesota went 7-3 in Big Ten play in 2022 through the halfway point. In 2021 the Gophers were also 7-3 (finished 15-5). Minnesota was 9-1 in spring 2021 (15-2) and 9-1 in 2019 (17-3) through nine games.
• The Gophers won Big Ten titles in 2016 and 2018 and have finished either first, second or third in eight of the last nine seasons. Minnesota currently ranks fourth (8-4), behind Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin (all 11-1).

DAVIS DETERMINED TO MAKE AN IMPACT
• After playing in just four of the team's first 17 games, the sophomore transfer from Ohio State has emerged over the last three weeks, making an impact in the middle in five straight matches.
• She has registered multiple kills in five straight matches and has blocks in each of those five games. Her best offensive game came at Wisconsin on Oct. 29 when she had eight kills (.545) while her best defensive output came on Nov. 6 at Illinois when she had five blocks (two solo).
HAPPY HUGHVEMBER
• Now in year 11 under Hugh McCutcheon, Minnesota has been a team that gets better throughout the course of the season. Under Hugh, the Gophers are 60-18 (.769) in the month of November. Since 2015, Minnesota is 41-9 (.820) in November, including a 20-5 (.800) record at home and a 21-4 (.840) record on the road.
