Loper wins all-around competition with a career best 39.750
The University of Minnesota gymnastics team beat Ohio State 197.575 – 195.775 on Saturday afternoon at Maturi Pavilion in front of 2,702 fans. The win moved the sixth-ranked Gophers to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Minnesota's Ona Loper and Lexy Ramler were the only two competitors to compete in the All-Around with Loper taking top honors with a career best 39.750 (fourth best score in school history). Ramler posted a 39.725, which was her second best score of year (39.825 against Michigan) and fourth best of her career. Ramler's career best score is 39.850 and came at the Big Five Meet in 2021.

Minnesota started the competition on the vault and scored a 49.250. Loper, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation on the vault, won the individual title with a 9.975 (tied for the tenth best score in program history). Loper previously recorded a perfect 10 (one of the four of her career) at home this season against Michigan. On Saturday, she was followed by Ramler (9.875), Maddie Quarles (9.825) and Gianna Gerdes (9.800). Rounding out the competition for the Gophers were Mya Hooten and Kate Grotenhuis who both scored 9.775.
Bars
The Gophers posted a season high 49.475 (tied for fifth best score in program history) on the bars, which was their best score since dropping a program-best 49.575 at the Big Five Meet in 2021. Minnesota had four of the top five finishers and was led by Loper, who totaled a 9.950. She was followed by Ramler (9.925) and Tiarre Sales (9.900). Hannah Willmarth finished fifth with a 9.875, while Hooten was seventh with a 9.825.
Beam
Minnesota scored 49.150 on the beam. Ramler, who is ranked No. 2 in the nation and has three perfect 10s in her career, led the Gophers with a 9.975. That mark tied Ramler's season-best output as she also had a 9.975 at Illinois. Loper was next for the Gophers with a 9.875, while Ali Sonier was Minnesota's third best finisher at 9.800. Emily Koch (9.775) and Hayley Tyson (9.725) completed the scoring for Minnesota.
Floor
Minnesota took the top five spots on floor as it posted a 49.700 (second best score in program history) and was led once again by Hooten (ranked No. 5 in the nation) who recorded a 9.975. Loper, Ramler and Quarles all scored 9.950 to tie for second. Quarles, who is a redshirt junior, was making her Minnesota home debut on the floor exercise after she made her collegiate floor debut at Illinois earlier in February and scored a 9.900. Remlinger closed out the scoring for the Gophers with a 9.875.
