Gophers to Compete in Colleton River Collegiate

Bluffton, S.C. – The University of Minnesota men's golf team will resume spring play on Monday at the upcoming Colleton River Collegiate. The event will be played at Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina, and is hosted by Michigan State.

The two-day event will feature 54 holes of golf – 36 to be played on Monday, 18 to be played on Tuesday. Play begins Monday morning with a shotgun start at 8:15 AM (EST).

The Lineup:
The Gophers will be sending five players to the event –  juniors Antoine Sale and Connor Glynn, sophomores Ben Warian and Alex Eickhoff, and freshman Eduardo Galdos.

The Field:
Colleton River Collegiate features a field of 15 teams: Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Memphis, Miami, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, and South Florida.

The Course: 
Colleton River Club consists of three 18-hole courses – this week's competition takes place on the Jack Nicklaus Course. The course measures over 7,100 yards, and is noted to strike a balance between challenge and playability. 

Looking Ahead:
Following Colleton River Collegiate, the Gophers will not compete again until March 28th and 29th, when they head to Palm City, Florida to play in the Valspar Intercollegiate.
