Gophers See 125 Recognized with Academic All-Big Ten Honors

MINNEAPOLIS – The Big Ten Conference has honored 125 University of Minnesota student-athletes as Academic All-Big Ten selections for the spring and at-large seasons, the conference announced Wednesday.
With the most recent academic merits, Maroon & Gold student-athletes have now earned a total of 357 Academic All-Big Ten accolades for the 2021-22 academic year. In the fall, 130 student-athletes were recognized, while the winter saw 102 earn Big Ten accolades.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten merits, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Nine University of Minnesota athletic programs were represented in the 2022 Spring and At-Large Academic All-Big Ten selections with women's track and field (43) leading the group and followed by rowing (24), men's track and field (17), followed by women's hockey (16), softball (nine), baseball (eight), men's golf (four), women's golf (two) and women's tennis (two).
Individually, nine Minnesota student-athletes on the 2022 Spring and At-Large Academic All-Big Ten list maintained unblemished 4.0 cumulative grade point averages – Alec Basten (men's track and field), Bethany Hasz (women's track and field), Megan Hasz (women's track and field), Ava Hill (women's track and field), Sydney Kretlow (women's track and field), Annie Moen (rowing), Zeyneb Sarioglan (women's tennis), Tate Sweeney (women's track and field) and Audrey Wethington (women's hockey).
