Maroon and Gold Wrap Up Fall Season At Quail Valley Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS - The Gopher men's golf team concluded its final tournament of the fall season with the third round of the Quail Valley Invitational in Vero Beach, Fla., Monday.Â
The Maroon and Gold finished in 12th place overall with a combined 54-hole score of 3-under par (276-286-299–861).Â
South Florida earned the first-place spot with a team score of 38-under par (275-273-278–826). South Florida's Brock Healy, and Toledo's Palmer Yenrick and Barend Botha tied for the top individual spot at 13-under par.Â
Notable:Â
Senior Ben Warian and junior Bennett Swavely finished their fall seasons tied for 19th place with scores to par at 5-under. Swavley nabbed a 74 in his final round finishing with a score of 70-67-74–211, while Warian notched a 75 in his final 18 holes to end with a 54-hole score of 64-72-75–211.Â
Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen tallied three birdies in his final round, finishing the tournament with a score of 5-over par (72-75-74–221).Â
Graduate senior Brock Winter (77-72-77–226) and junior Gavin Hagstrom (70-80-76–226) both finished tied for 75th overall with a score of 10-over par.Â
Looking Ahead:Â
With the Quail Valley Invitational serving as the final tournament of the fall, the Maroon and Gold will resume play in the spring at the Puerto Rico Classic.Â
