Two Gophers Inside Top Ten After First Round of Blessings Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Ben Warian and graduate senior Brock Winter are both in the top 10 on the leaderboard after 18 holes at the Blessings Invitational Monday at Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Ark.
Warian notched a 1-under 71 in his first round, placing him in a tie for sixth place overall, while Winter sits one shot behind Warian at even-par
As a team, the Gophers sit in a tie with N.C. State for seventh place with a team score of 11-over par (299).
Host-Arkansas leads the tournament after the first day with a team score of 9-under par, while Mississippi State sits in second place with a team score at even-par. Arkansas' John Driscoll is the top individual, tallying a 4-under 68 in his first round.
Notable:
Warian nabbed five birdies in his first 18 holes, to set himself up within the top 10 after the first round. Winter tallied three birdies in his first 18 holes to sit in a tie for eighth.
Junior Bennett Swavely is in a tie for 29th with a score of 4-over par, while graduate senior Jacob Pedersen stands in a tie for 42nd atf 8-over par, and sophomore Mason Roloff is alone in 48th place with a score of 11-over par.
