Winter Leads Gophers After Two Rounds of Blessings Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS - Brock Winter leads the University of Minnesota men's golf team after 36 holes of the Blessings Invitational at Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Ark.Â
Winter carded a 2-under 70 in his second round, placing him in a two-way tie for fourth place at 2-under (72-70).Â
The Gophers currently stand in sixth place after 36 holes, after shooting a team score of 4-over par in their second round. For the tournament, the Gophers are 15-over (299-292).
Host-Arkansas remains in the top spot with a team score of 13-under par through 36 holes, while Mississippi State sits in second place at 7-under par. Arkansas' John Driscoll is the top individual for the second straight day, notching a second consecutive 4-under 68 to put him at 8-under overall.Â

Winter notched four birdies in his second round, tying him first on the team in birdies collected through 36 holes with seven.Â
Senior Ben Warian nabbed an even-par 72 in his second round, putting him just one shot back of Winter. Warian, who also has seven birdies, currently sits in a tie for sixth at 1-under (71-72).Â
Junior Bennett Swavely is in a tie for 30th with a score of 6-over par (76-74), while graduate senior Jacob Pedersen stands in a tie for 45th at 12-over par (80-76), and sophomore Mason Roloff is tied for 48th place with a score of 19-over par (83-80).Â
