Gophers Finish Blessings Invitational in Ninth as Inclement Weather Cancels Final Round

FAYETTEVILLE, AR. - The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in ninth place after the third round was canceled due to inclement weather. The team made it through three holes today before having to leave the course. The final scores from rounds one and two were used to determine the final results.
Megan Furtney was the low individual for the Gophers, finishing with a two-day score of 76-75=151 (+7). As a team, Minnesota shot 312-298=610 (+34) between rounds one and two.
Maria Jose Marin finished as the tournament's top competitor and helped lead the Arkansas team to a first-place finish with a score of 285-280=565 (-11).
Notable:
Megan Furtney finished in solo 30th with a two-day score of 76-75=151 (+7).
Hailey Loh shot a two-day score of 77-75=152 (+8) and tied for 31st.
Sophomore Isabella McCauley finished one stroke behind teammate Loh, tying for 33rd with a score of 77-76=153 (+9).
Grace Curran carded an 82 in round one and a 72 in round two for a total score of 154 (+10). She finished the tournament in 37th.
Freshman Sara Tomaszewski finished the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in 45th, penciling in an 84-76=160 (+16).
