A MINI 2022-23 GOPHER INDOOR TRACK RECAP
The University of Minnesota women's track team had another outstanding campaign, both indoors and outdoors, last season. Shelby Frank led the team with her best indoor season of her career, finishing as the national runner-up in the women's weight throw. Frank ended the indoor season with the second-best mark in the NCAA at 24.14m (79-2 1/2) with both Frank and the NCAA leader Jalani Davis of Ole Miss both returning this season. Nyalaam Jok was Minnesota's other scorer at the NCAA Championships, helping Minnesota to a 18th-place team finish, the highest for the program in 13 years. Jok was sixth overall, earning her first career First Team All-American finish with a mark of 1.85m (6-0 3/4).

WHO'S BACK?
On top of Minnesota's two NCAA indoor scorers both returning this season the Gophers also welcome back 12 different scorers from the 2023 Big Ten Indoor Championships, with those 12 student-athletes contributing points in nine different events. Shelby Frank, Abigail Schaaffe, Lexy Berger, Dyandra Gray, Alliyah McNeil and Erin Reidy all return to the track after redshirtting the outdoor season. Frank will will aim to defend her Big Ten indoor title this season, a title that she earned by throwing her season-best mark (24.14m).
