AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of Minnesota women's golf team had round three cut short today due to heavy rain at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. The team made it through seven holes before play was suspended and ultimately canceled. Only scores from rounds one and two were recorded in the final results, leaving the Gophers in 10th with a score of 593 (+17).
Second ranked Wake Forest won the tournament with a 563 (-13).
Quotable:
"We're really disappointed we didn't get to play today and make a move," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "After seven holes we were in position to move ahead but unfortunately the round was canceled due to torrential rain. The one thing we can't control is the weather so it is what it is. We will regroup and look ahead to our next event."
