The Golden Gophers dropped 4-0 to the No. 48 Penn State Nittany Lions Friday afternoon.

University Park, Pa. – The University of Minnesota tennis program (5-8 overall, 0-2 BiG Ten) fell 4-0 to No. 48 Penn State (9-8 overall, 1-2 Big Ten) at University Park, Pa. on Friday.

Penn State took an early 1-0 lead in the match after Nittany Lions duo Sofiya Chekhlystova and Carla Girbau overcame Gophers duo Zoey Weil and Anet Koskel 2-6, in the first position. 

In singles, Penn State earned points at the fifth and sixth positions as Minnesota did not have enough competitors to field the positions. No. 2 Maroon and Gold player Anet Koskel lost 3-6, 3-6 to Penn State's foe Yvonne Zuffova, claiming the final point of the match.
