Minnesota Drops 4-0 to Michigan State on Saturday

The Golden Gophers fell 4-0 to Michigan State Saturday morning at MSU Indoor Tennis Center.

East Lansing, Mich. – The University of Minnesota tennis team (5-10 overall, 0-4 Big Ten) were defeated 4-0 by the Michigan State Spartans (8-7 overall, 1-3 Big Ten) at MSU Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday. 

Michigan State took a 1-0 lead in the match after Spartans pairing Ayshe Can and Liisa Vehvilainen overcame Gophers duo Zoey Weil and Anet Koskel 2-6, in the first position. 

In singles play, Michigan State earned a point at the sixth position as Minnesota did not have enough competitors to field the position. No. 3 Zeyneb Sarioglan fell 0-6, 1-6 to Spartan opponent Marley Lambert. Michigan State's Ayshe Can claimed the final point of the match with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Golden Gopher player Anet Koskel, in the second position.
