'U' Ends Indiana Trip Early After One Day of Racing

Saturday's races cancelled

UNIONVILLE, Ind. - The Golden Gophers rowing team started their spring season with a "Double Dual" regatta against Indiana and Tulsa Friday at Lake Lemon. The competition ended a day early as Saturday's morning session was cancelled due to high winds and debris in the water.
 
Minnesota's top result came from the Second Varsity Eight crew as it finished second in a time of 6:50.3 Friday from the Dale England Rowing Center. The host Hoosiers claimed three of the four races completed, while the Golden Hurricane added one race win.
 
Storms altered the original schedule for the weekend before making conditions on Lake Lemon unusable Saturday.
