Minnesota Rallies For 2-0 Walk-Off Win Over Penn State

Sophomore Kayla Chavez hit her second walk-off of the season, leading the Golden Gophers to victory

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Golden Gophers rallied to score two in the seventh inning and walked it off on sophomore Kayla Chavez's two-run home run off of Bailey Parshall to pick up the 2-0 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions Friday afternoon.

Senior Autumn Pease (13-5) started in the circle and picked up the win for Minnesota (20-13, 1-3 Big Ten). The right-hander went seven shutout innings while giving up three hits, allowing two walks and striking out eight.

Offensively, the Golden Gophers were paced by Chavez, who went 3-for-4 on the day with two doubles, a home run and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game stayed scoreless until the bottom half of the seventh, when Minnesota walked it off on Chavez's two-out two-run home run off of Parshall.
