Gophers Complete First Two Rounds at Colleton River

Warian, Johnson have impressive 36 holes.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team completed its first 36 holes at the Colleton River Collegiate Monday and finds itself in a tie for sixth place.Â
The Gophers' collected a team score of 273-283–556 to sit 20 shots under par at the Nicklaus Course at the Colleton River Club in Bluffton, S.C.
After the first two rounds, No. 21 Kansas State sits atop the leaderboard with a team score of 269-275–544 (-32) followed by No. 24 Georgia Southern (-27) and Michigan State (-23).
Notable:Â
Minnesota junior Ben Warian had an impressive two rounds, tying a career low in his first round with a seven-under 65. He shot 65-69–134 over the first two rounds and is tied for second on the individual leaderboard.Â
Graduate Lincoln Johnson tallied five birdies and no bogies in his first round, shooting a five-under 65. Johnson finished with a score of 67-72-139 through 36 holes to sit in a tie for 22nd.Â
Competing as an individual, freshman Mason Roloff shot two consecutive scores of 71 over his two rounds and is tied for 40th at 2-under par.
Sophomore Eduardo Galdos notched a solid five birdies over his first two rounds, shooting 70-73–143 to find himself one stroke back of Roloff.Â
Senior Harrison Arnold secured four birdies over his two rounds. Arnold shot 71-73-144 over his first 36 holes and is even-par tied for 55th.
Fellow senior Antoine Sale started his tournament shooting a 78, but bounced back in his second round with a three-under 69. His 36-hole score of 147 has him 3-over par and in 65th.
