Two Gophers Tied For 17th As “U” Finishes First Day of Redhawk Collegiate

MINNEAPOLIS - Graduate Jacob Pedersen and junior Ben Warian both find themselves in a tie for 17th place after the University of Minnesota Men's Golf team completed its first 36 holes at the Redhawk Collegiate Monday. 

The Gophers currently sit in ninth place overall with a team score of 25-over par (295-298–593). Marquette leads the field after the first two rounds at 9-over par (286-291–577). 

Notable: 
Pedersen and Warian are both tied for the team lead with a score of 5-over par as each opened with a 73 and followed in round two with a 74. Pedersen tallied five birdies over the first two rounds, while Warian notched three. 

Graduate Lincoln Johnson collected five birdies in his first 36 holes and currently sits in a tie for 30th with a score of 7-over par (74-75-149).

Senior Antoine Sale (75-75–150) is tied for 35th, while freshman Jack Wetzel, who is competing as an individual, is one shot back and in a tie for 40th (80-71–151). Fellow freshman Mason Roloff (77-76–153) sits in a tie for 48th.
