56th-Ranked Gophers Set for Big Ten Championship

This Big Ten field features six top-50 teams
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The University of Minnesota Women's Golf team is one day away from post-season play at the Big Ten Championship as they travel to Pittsburgh, PA. to compete at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. Last year, the U finished in 12th place shooting 909 (+57) as a team.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament, will have a 7:30 a.m. CT start in round one on Friday as well as round two on Saturday. The final round is set for a 7:00 a.m. CT tee-off on Sunday, Apr. 23rd.
Michigan was crowned champion in 2022 scoring 857 (+5) as a team.

"We're feeling really good about our momentum coming off the Lady Buckeye," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Fox Chapel is an amazing course and we're excited about how it sets up for our games. We need to be patient and take it a moment at a time."

The Gophers are running it back with the six that competed last week at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational. Representing the U are freshman Isabella McCauley, freshman Luisamariana Mesones, seniors Grace Curran, Emma Carpenter and Leah Herzog, as well as freshman Ruby Chi.
The Field:
Meeting the 56th-ranked Gophers in Pittsburgh are all fellow Big Ten teams. These include No. 15 Northwestern, No. 24 Ohio State, No. 32 Michigan State, No. 33 Maryland, No. 43 Michigan, No. 45 Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, and Wisconsin.

Play will be held at the 6,045-yard par-71 Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, PA. This is the second year in a row Fox Chapel has hosted the Big Ten Championship.
