Carpenter and Curran to Return for Another Year

Emma Carpenter and Grace Curran will return to the University of Minnesota women's golf team for another year of competition in the 2023-24 season. Both student-athletes have played in every tournament the past two seasons and will bring strong leadership to an overall younger team.
Carpenter has shaved off .36 strokes on her scoring average between the last two seasons, shooting a 75.96 average in 2022-23. She had her career-best personal finish in the spring of 2023 when she placed sixth at the Westbrook Invitational, carding 5-under-par throughout the 54 holes. The Illinois native has played represented the Maroon & Gold in 30 tournaments and 83 rounds, has accumulated 6,340 strokes, and has a low round of 69.
Grace Curran held the third-lowest scoring average on the team during the Gophers 2022-23 campaign. Her recent season was highlighted by a 5-under-par round at the Chattanooga Classic, which is her career low round. As a Gopher, Curran has competed in 33 tournaments and 94 rounds. She has played 7,084 golf shots and has a career average of 75.54, which would be tied for the third-best in school history.
