Gophers Return Home for ANNIKA Intercollegiate

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's golf team will begin their second tournament of the 2023 fall season on Monday, Sept. 11, at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M. The lone home tournament of the season will be hosted at The Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn. The Gophers will be joined by 11 other universities, including 2023 national champion Wake Forest. This is the ninth edition of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and the sixth time Minnesota will make an appearance.
Round one will begin on Monday, Sept. 11, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT, round two on Tuesday, Sept. 12 with 9:30 a.m. CT starting tee times, and round three on Wednesday, Sept. 13, with 8:30 a.m. CT starting tee times.

"This is my favorite event of the year and a great chance for us to compete at home in an elite field. We've had the opportunity to play the course a few times this week and show the newcomers the track. Really excited to get out there tomorrow and would love to see some Gopher fans on site."

Representing the U in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate are freshman Sara Tomaszewski, sophomore Isabella McCauley, senior Hailey Loh, and graduates Grace Curran and Megan Furtney.
The Field:
Meeting the Gophers in Lake Elmo are 13 top-30 ranked teams, according to Golfweek's rankings. These include No.2 Wake Forest, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Mississippi State, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 Oregon, No. 10 Florida State, No. 12 Baylor, No. 15 San Jose State, No. 25 Virginia, and No. 27 Duke.
The Course:
The Royal Golf Club, designed by Annika Sörenstam and Arnold Palmer, will play as a 6,267-yard par 72. This is the fifth time The Royal Golf Club will host this tournament.
Looking Ahead:
Just five days after the conclusion of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, the Gophers will travel across the country to Tacoma, Wash. for the Leadership and Golf Invitational. This two-day event will take place between Sept. 18-19.
