• The Golden Gophers welcome the Central Michigan Chippewas on Monday night. Game time is set for 7 p.m., and streamed on B1G +. It marks the second time in three years Central Michigan has visited Williams Arena. The CMU game ends a six-game opening homestand.Â
• The Golden Gophers faced the Chippewas on Nov. 17, 2022 and won, 68-60. Dawson Garcia scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half to push the Gophers to the 2022 win. Minnesota shot 47.9 percent from the field in that game and 38.9 from three. All time, Minnesota is 5-0 against CMU, dating back to 2004, all of which have come at Williams Arena.Â
• Minnesota's scheduled for a busy week over the Thanksgiving break. After Monday's game, the Gophers travel to Orlando, Fla., to compete at the ESPN Events Invitational, Nov.  28-29. Following the two-game trip to Orlando, the Gophers then host Bethune-Cookman on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Gophers open the Big Ten season on Wednesday, Dec. 4 vs. Michigan State.Â
• Minnesota is looking for its third-straight win after it defeated Yale (59-56) and Cleveland State (58-47). In Minnesota's last action, Parker Fox led all scorers with a Minnesota-best 18 points. In all, four Gophers scored in double figures for the first time this year: Parker Fox, Dawson Garcia, Brennan Rigsby and Isaac Asuma. It was Asuma's first double-digit point game of his young college career. Femi Odukale also tied a career-best 12 rebounds. The Gophers allowed just 47 points, which was the least amount of points allowed since 2021.  Â
• Minnesota signed three recruits in the early November period in forward Parker Jefferson (Waxahachie, Texas) and guards Jacob Ross (Bristow, Va.) and Kai Shinholster (Philadelphia, Pa.). Jefferson and Ross are both listed as four or three star recruits and ranked in the top 150, while Shinholster is a three-star recruit. The Gopher recruiting class ranks 26th nationally by Rivals.com and 41st by 247Sports.Â
SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
• Central Michigan is 3-2 this season and on a two-game win streak entering the Minnesota game. CMU defeated Central State (86-52) and George Mason (70-69) after falling 70-62 against Marquette. Â
• Slated to finish eighth in the MAC preseason poll, senior guard Anthony Pritchard was named a First Team All-Mid-American. Pritchard is one of five CMU returners, while the Chippewas added 10 newcomers this season. Pritchard leads the team in points (13.8 ppg), field goals (27) and assists (25). Jakobi Heady averages 7.2 rebounds and 13 points, while Kyler Vanderjagt averages 11.4 points. He and Cayden Vasko both have a team-best nine three-pointers.Â
• As a team, CMU is averaging 72.8 points and allowing 66.8. They are shooting 44.9 from the field and 31.3 from three-point range. Defensively, the team averages 37.8 rebounds and has 18 blocks and 42 steals.Â

• Minnesota hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the ESPN Events Invitational, Nov. 28-29. Gophers play at 11 a.m. vs. Wichita State Thanksgiving morning on ESPN2. The Gophers will play either Florida or Wake Forest on Nov. 29.Â
