MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 23 ranked Golden Gopher women's swimming and diving program moved to a 6-1 record on Friday evening after defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 192-108 in a home dual meet. Minnesota has remained undefeated in home dual and tri-meets throughout the 2024-24 season so far.

"It's always good to get a win in the B1G," said head coach Kelly Kremer. "We are coming off a pretty challenging stretch of meets and training, and I thought all things considered, we performed well."

The 'U' claimed both relay wins on the day. The 200 free relay team, made up of Morgan Thomas, Hannah Cornish, Livi Wanner, and Mina Kaljevic, won with a time of 1:33.35. The 400 free relay team, made up of Paula Rodriguez Rivero, Ava Goodno, Morgan Thomas, and Mina Kaljevic, won with a time of 3:45.23.

Eleven different Maroon and Gold swimmers picked up individual wins against Iowa: Eliot Kennedy in the 1000 free (10:08.19), Hannah Cornish in the 200 free (1:49.61), Paula Rodriguez Rivero in the 100 breast (56.12), Rachel Conley in the 200 butterfly (2:02.43), Livi Wanner in the 50 free (23.50), Morgan Thomas in the 100 free (50.80), Elise Jacobs in the 200 back (2:01.67), Katie McKarthy in the 500 free (4:56.55), and Mina Kaljevic in the 100 butterfly (55.83).

Iowa claimed both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Minnesota sophomore Vivi Del Angel took second in the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter.

Both the Gopher men's and women's swimming and diving squads will close out the fall season with the annual Minnesota Invitational at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. The Invitational will run from Dec. 4-7.
