MADISON, Wis. -- The No. 5 University of Minnesota women's hockey team (24-7-1) falls to No. 2 Wisconsin (28-4-0), 4-0, in the final road game of the regular season at LaBahn Arena on Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless opening period, Wisconsin's Kirsten Simms opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the middle frame.

The Badgers tallied a pair of late goals in the third period to put the game away.
Lucy Morgan stopped 27 shots, but suffered her second loss of the season. Wisconsin's Ava McNaughton made all 17 saves to earn the victory.

Quotable
"A tough result today," said head coach Brad Frost. "Credit Wisconsin. They played a really strong game and we got away from our game in the second period. We turned too many pucks over and they ended up in our net. We're excited to get back home and honor our seniors with two really big games against Minnesota Duluth."
