Minnesota Travels to Memphis, Tenn. to Face Memphis, Utah

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota tennis program will travel for the second straight week, heading to Memphis, Tenn. for matchups against No. 38 Memphis and No. 48 Utah. The Gophers (7-1) will face the Tigers (8-3) on Friday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 PM (CT), then the Utes (5-3) on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11:30 AM (CT). both at Leftwich Tennis Center.
The Competition
Minnesota holds a 3-3 program record against Memphis. The Gophers last faced the Tigers at home on Feb. 26, 2023, ultimately falling 1-4.
Minnesota is 1-9 all-time against Utah, winning for the first time in a 4-3 match on Feb. 24, 2023 at Baseline Tennis Center.
The Season So Far
The Gophers continue their stretch of four consecutive road matches following six straight at home to open the spring season. Last weekend, Minnesota fell to Oregon 2-5 on neutral courts and then beat Boise State 5-2 on the road, bringing the Maroon and Gold to an overall 7-1 record on the year.
Through the seven Minnesota student-athletes that have seen official dual-match action this season, the Maroon and Gold are 41-7 in singles and 17-6 in doubles. Minnesota has clinched the doubles point in five out of their eight matches, only dropping it against North Dakota, Oregon, and Boise State.
