Warian Finishes in Top Five at Johnnie-O

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Ben Warian nabbed a top-five finish after three consecutive rounds under par at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island. 

The Gophers finished in 11th place overall over the 54-hole tournament with a score at even-par (285-291-288–864). 

Notre Dame took home the team title with a score of 32-under par (287-270-275–832). The Fighting Irish's Jacob Modleski and Michigan State's Ashton McCulloch tied for the top individual spot at 12-under par. 

Notable:
Warian (70-70-68) tied for fourth, recording his eighth straight top-20 finish. Warian finished the week carding 11 birdies through his 54 holes. The senior from Stillwater, Minn., tallied 40 pars, as well, which was tied for second in the field.

Junior Bennett Swavely nabbed seven birdies for his 54 holes. Swavely finished tied for 35th with a score of 1-over par (70-74-73). 

Graduate senior Brock Winter (73-74-74), sophomore Cormac Sharpe (75-73-73), and freshman Kyler Schwamb (70-76-75), who played as an individual, all tied for 53rd place with scores of 5-over par. 

Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen concluded his tournament with a score of 7-over par and tied for 63rd. 

Playing as an individual in his first tournament of the spring season, junior Eduardo Galdos finished two shots behind Pedersen, tied for 67th. 

Also playing as an individual, sophomore Jack Wetzel finished tied for 79th at 15-over par.
