MADISON, WISC. - The University of Minnesota tennis program falls to No. 25 Wisconsin in a 7-0 road match, marking the first conference loss of the season for the Maroon and Gold.
The No. 72 Golden Gophers move to a 2-1 Big Ten conference record and a 9-6 overall record.
Key Moments
Wisconsin took the doubles point to start the match. They first struck in the No. 3 spot, with Rosie Garcia Gross and Taylor Cataldi taking down Aiva Schmitz and Sofia Pizzoni 6-3. Then, in the No. 1 spot, Maria Sholokhova and Alina Mukhortova's 6-3 victory against Mia Liepert and Zeyneb Sarioglan secured the point for the Badgers. The No. 2 Gopher pair Anali Kocevar and Emma Belluomini's 5-5 tied match was left unfinished.
