McCauley Brings Home B1G Golfer of the Week Award

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota sophomore Isabella McCauley was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Thursday, the Big Ten announced. It is her second time taking home the award this spring and the fourth in her career.
McCauley finished the Mountain View Collegiate in a tie for 11th place with a tournament score of 68-73-72-213 (-3). McCauley's opening round 68 was bogey-free and she shot par-or-better on 48 of 54 holes at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. She led the Gophers and tied for 11th out of a field of 81 golfers.
"Bella is, again, very deserving of this award" said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "The 68 she shot in the first round, in horrific conditions, was one of the best rounds I've seen of hers in college."
As a team, Minnesota finished tied for 12th, posting a tournament score of 302-293-287-882 (+18).
The Gophers will be back in action for The Bruzzy in Ardmore, Okla., on March 30 and 31.
