Two Gophers Named All-Americans on Night One of NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Minnesota freshman YuTong Wang and junior Bar Soloveychik both earned All-America honors on Thursday night in Indianapolis at the 2024 Men's NCAA Championships.
Wang earned First-Team honors while Soloveychik garnered Honorable Mention recognition.
With a 348.60 in the 1-meter prelims, Wang placed eighth and advanced to the final round, just 1.15 points behind seventh. In the finals, Wang performed consistently, scoring a 348.50 to finish on the podium in eighth.
Soloveychik got off the blocks quickly in the 500 free prelims. He clocked a 4:11.33 to break the Minnesota record in the event and place ninth overall. In the finals, the junior swam a 4:12.20 to secure Honorable Mention recognition.
Freshman Davide Harabagiu competed in the 50 free prelims on Friday morning. His time of 19.43 was a new personal record.
Also competing in the 500 free, senior Chris Nagy swam a season-best 4:19.96. Kaiser Neverman kicked off his NCAAs with a 1:45.12 in the 200 IM.
Action continues for the Gophers on Friday morning. Neverman and Harabagiu will compete in the 100 fly. Soloveychik will swim the 200 free while Wang will dive on the 3-meter springboard. The Minnesota 400 medley relay team of Stowe, Rudd, Harabagiu and Neverman will cap off the night.
The prelims will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT with finals at 5:00 p.m. CT. The meet is streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available on GopherSports.com.
