Polyak Set to Compete at 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - Incoming University of Minnesota Men's Swim freshman Joe Polyak has been selected to compete for the United States in the 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.Ā

The biannual event will be staged at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, AUS from August 21-24, 2024. The Iowa City, IA native is set to swim in both the 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley.

Polyak was nominated based on his performance at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. In the trial preliminaries, he posted career-best times of 1:01.43 in the 100m breast and 2:00.60 in the 200 IM. He also notched a career-best time of 2:12.52 in the 200m breast, finishing 18th.

Polyak previously swam for the Iowa Flyers Swim Club and will join the Golden Gopher Men's Swim roster in the fall of 2024.
