Swavely Leads Gophers After 36 Holes of Git-R-Done Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Bennett Swavely leads the University of Minnesota Men's Golf team after 36 holes Monday at the Git-R-Done Invitational in Lincoln, Nebr. 

The Maroon and Gold concluded the day in a tie for tenth place after the first two rounds, collecting a team score of 11-over par (295-284). 

Sam Houston State leads the team competition with a score of 17-under par (279-272). 

Notable: 
Swavely finished the day tied for sixth-place, tallying eight birdies through his first 36 holes. The Gopher senior's 36 holes score of 139 (69-70) places him at 3-under par heading into Tuesday's final round. 

Freshman Chun-Ta Wu concluded the day at 2-over par. A slow start in round one set Wu back after 18 holes, but gained two strokes in his second 18 holes of the day. His 36 holes score of 144 (75-69) places Wu in a tie for 24th. 

Competing as an individual, freshman Jack Crousore, finished the day tied for 40th, with a score of 5-over par (74-73).

Senior Eduardo Galdos (75-73) and junior Jack Wetzel (76-72) concluded the first 36 holes tied for 44th, with a score of 6-over par. 

Junior Cormac Sharpe ended his day in a tie for 56th, with a score of 10-over par (77-75).
