Maroon and Gold Set for Badger Invitational Sunday

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's golf team is set to compete in the Badger Invitational Sunday in Madison, Wisc. at University Ridge Golf Course. In addition to the Badger Invitational, the Gophers will send three individuals to the Tommie Invitational in Stillwater, Minn.

The Badger Invitational is a three-day, 54-hole stroke play tournament that begins Sunday, and runs through Tuesday.

The Lineup: 
Representing the Gophers are seniors Bennett Swavely and Eduardo Galdos, junior Cormac Sharpe, and freshmen Chun-Ta Wu and Ryan Stendahl. Freshman Jack Crousore will be competing as an individual. 

The Field: 
The Gophers will be competing against Big Ten rivals Nebraska, and host-Wisconsin. The rest of the field comprises Ball State, California State-Long Beach, Illinois State, Memphis, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Southern Mississippi, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Virginia Commonwealth, and Washington State.

Staying Home: 
Juniors Jack Wetzel and Mason Roloff, along with sophomore Kyler Schwamb will compete in the inaugural Tommie Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Stillwater, Minn. The two-day, 54-holes stroke play tournament will begin Monday at 9 a.m. CT. Live scoring can be found at scoreboard.clippd.com, or by following the link above. 

Last Time Out: 
The Gophers finished last week's Git-R-Done Invitational in seventh-place overall with a team score of 10-over par (295-284-283–862).
