Maroon and Gold Set to Host First Tournament of 2024-25 Season

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's golf team is set to begin its 2024-25 season at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn., as it hosts the Gopher Invitational Sept. 8-9. Â
The Gopher Invitational is a 54-hole event, with the first 36 holes taking place Sunday, and the final 18 holes set for Monday. The first round will begin at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, with the second round immediately following. The final round will also begin at 7:15 a.m.Â

The Field:Â
The Gophers are one of 15 teams in this year's field. Joining the Maroon and Gold are Baylor, Furman, Georgia Southern, Iowa, Iowa State, Kent State, Marquette, Nebraska, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, St, Thomas (Minn.), UNC-Wilmington, and West Virginia.Â
The Lineup:Â
Seniors Bennett Swavely and Eduardo Galdos, junior Cormac Sharpe, and freshmen Chun-Ta Wu and Jack Crousore, who are making their debut as members of the Gophers, will be competing for the team competition. Juniors Jack Wetzel, and Mason Roloff, sophomore Kyler Schwamb, and freshman Ryan Stendahl, who is also making his debut at Minnesota, will be competing as individuals.Â
The Course:Â
Windsong Farm Golf Club is consistently ranked as one of the top-rated courses in Minnesota. The course measures over 7,500 yards and plays as a par 71.
