12/14/2025 2:39:00 PM | Men's Basketball
Cade Tyson scored a career-high 38 points and tied a school record with eight three-pointers, Jaylen Crocker-Johnson finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Minnesota (6-5) made 15 three-pointers during an 89-53 blowout versus Texas Southern (1-7) at Williams Arena.

He finished the game 11-of-19 from the field, including 8-of-12 from long-distance, and 8-of-11 at the free throw line. Tyson becomes the sixth Minnesota player with eight three-pointers in a game, and the first since Payton Willis versus Rutgers on Jan. 22, 2022. Tyson's 38-point game marks the most points for a Minnesota player since Dawson Garcia had 36 points at Ohio State on Dec. 3, 2023.
Â
Isaac Asuma added 13 points, six assists, and six rebounds, Bobby Durkin had 12 points and tied his career-high with four steals, Langston Reynolds dished out a career-high 10 assists, and Grayson Grove had a career-high six points for the Gophers. Minnesota, which continued to play without injured starters Robert Vaihola and guard Chansey Willis Jr. (out for the season), made 28-of-57 (.491) field goals, including 15-of-34 (.441) three-pointers, and 18-of-25 (.720) free throws, and the Gophers finished with advantages of 38-31 in rebounds, 24-7 in points off turnovers, and 21-4 in fastbreak points.
Â
