STARTING FIVE
  • The Golden Gophers came in at No. 18 in this week's NET rankings. Minnesota is one of nine Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25.
  • The Gophers rank sixth nationally and third in the Big Ten in assist-to-turnover ratio (224-122), third in the NCAA and first in the conference in fewest turnovers per game (10.2), and second nationally and first in the Big Ten in scoring defense (50.7 points per game).
  • Mara Braun and Grace Grocholski each reached 1,000 career points this season. With those milestones, Minnesota now has three active 1,000-point scorers (including Amaya Battle). Brylee Glenn is nearing the mark, sitting at 894 career points.
  • Against Drake, Braun had a season-high seven field goals made and four steals. She has recorded at least one steal in every game this season, extending her steal streak to 12 games. She leads Minnesota with 23 steals.
  • Finau Tonga recorded season highs in field goals made and career highs in field goal attempts against Drake last Sunday. She finished 6-for-8 from the field and scored 12 points, two shy of her season high of 14.
  • The Gopher defense held Drake to 43 points and 28.9% shooting at home. It marked Drake's lowest output in both categories since a loss to South Dakota during the 2021-22 season, when Dawn Plitzuweit was head coach. In that game, the Coyotes allowed 46 points on 25.9% shooting.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Minnesota and Indiana are meeting for the 76th time, with Minnesota leading the all-time series 38-37 dating back to the 1974-75 season.
  • Last season, the Gophers defeated the Hoosiers 66-56 at Williams Arena, snapping a seven-game losing streak against Indiana.
  • In the win, Amaya Battle scored her 1,000th career point.
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS

  • On Dec. 15, Ciezki and freshman Maya Makalusky swept the Big Ten's weekly awards for their performances against ULM and Eastern Michigan.
  • Teri Moren is in her 12th season leading the Hoosiers and her 23rd season as a head coach.
