Maroon & Gold Set to Host First Chance Meet

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gopher swimming and diving programs will begin their championship season on Friday, Jan. 7, as they host the First Chance Meet at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
The Golden Gophers will host local universities in their final competition before the Big Ten Championships. The No. 23-ranked women's team will compete in the Big Ten Championships taking place on Feb. 19-22 at Ohio State. The men's team, who received votes in the CSCAA poll, will compete in the Big Ten Championships from Feb. 26-March 1 at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
Session one of the First Chance Meet will begin on Friday at 5 p.m. with the 100 fly, 100 breast, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay.
Session two begins on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will feature the 400 IM, 200 free, 100 back and 1650 free.
The final session will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, featuring the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relay.
The meet will be streamed on B1G+ (paid subscription) and live results will be available on gophersports.com and the Meet Mobile App (paid subscription).
