Maroon and Gold Wrap Up Day One Of Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team concluded the first 36 holes of the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate Monday at Wigwam Golf Club.
The Gophers finished the first two rounds with a score of 14-over par and currently are in 13th place overall. Marquette holds the lead after 36 holes with a score of 23-under par.
Notable:
Freshman Chun-Ta Wu carded seven birdies in his first day of competition. Wu leads the Gophers through the first 36 holes, tied for 26th place, with a score of 1-over par.
Fellow freshman Jack Crousore nabbed three birdies in his first 36 holes. Crousore finished the day tied for 41st with a score of 3-over par.
Senior Eduardo Galdos (77-72) and junior Jack Wetzel (73-75) tallied four birdies in their first day of competition. Wetzel, who is competing as an individual, and Galdos are tied for 49th with a score of 5-over par.
Senior Bennett Swavley (74-76) and Cormac Sharpe (76-75) concluded the first 36 holes tied for 64th with a score of 7-over par.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Kyler Schwamb (79-74) sits in a tie for 78th with a score of 9-over par.
