MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota tennis team will continue its 2025 fall season at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic this weekend.
The 49th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic is set for Sept. 25–28 at the Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove, WI.
Gopher Invitees
Four Gophers have been invited to compete at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic: seniors Aiva Schmitz and Anali Kocevar, and juniors Mia Liepert and Jeselle Ante.
Minnesota will compete in both singles and doubles, with the doubles pairs of Ante/Schmitz and Kocevar/Liepert.
These four are the first Gophers to be invited to the tournament in at least 15 years.
Tournament Format
The tournament format includes a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw.
Singles matches are best of three sets, with a 10-point tiebreak played instead of a third set. No-ad scoring will be used. Players will receive new balls for each set, but not for tiebreaks.
Doubles matches are one six-game set, with a tiebreak to seven played at 6-all. No-ad scoring will be used.
