STARTING FIVE
  • After three home games at Williams Arena, the Golden Gophers head out west to face Washington on Sunday and Oregon on Wednesday.
  • The Maroon and Gold fell to No. 3 UCLA on Wednesday night. Amaya Battle and Mara Braun combined for 31 of Minnesota's 58 points.
  • On Sunday, The Gophers defeated the No. 21-ranked Trojans 63-62. It marked the Gophers' first win over an AP Top 25 opponent since defeating No. 19 Arizona State 80-66 at Williams Arena on Nov. 17, 2019.
  • Braun and Grocholski have each reached 1,000 career points this season. With those milestones, Minnesota now has three active 1,000-point scorers, including Amaya Battle. Brylee Glenn is nearing the mark with 913 career points.
  • Battle has recorded 546 career assists, ranking third in Minnesota history. She needs 32 more assists to surpass Lindsay Whalen  (578) for second on the program's career assists list. This season, the Hopkins, Minn., native leads the Gophers in assists (66) and rebounds (125). She ranks No. 15 in assists per game and No. 9 in rebounds per game in the Big Ten.

WHERE THEY RANK
  • Minnesota is ranked No. 15 in the NET and is one of eight Big Ten teams in the top 25. The Gophers also received 12 votes in this week's AP Top 25 poll and one in the USA TODAY/WBCA Coaches Poll.
  • Minnesota leads the nation with 11 games holding opponents to 50 points or fewer. No other team in the country has more than nine such games, and the next closest team in the Big Ten is Maryland at seven games.
  • The Maroon and Gold rank No. 1 in the nation and the Big Ten in fewest turnovers per game, averaging 10.4.
  • Minnesota's 1.62 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks eighth nationally and third in the conference.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Washington leads the all-time series 6-1, dating to 1982.
  • Minnesota's lone win came in the teams' first meeting in 1982, an 80-79 victory.
