STARTING FIVE
• The Golden Gopher men's basketball team is on the road for two straight when it heads to the Pacific Northwest, first with Washington on Saturday. The Huskies won the first-ever conference meeting last year at Williams Arena in a 71-68 victory.
• Saturday's game features two former Mountain West coaches in Minnesota's Niko Medved and Washington's Danny Sprinkle. Medved was at Colorado State for seven years, while Sprinkle spent a year at Utah State after a four-year tenure at Montana State. Medved and Sprinkle also competed against each other when Washington faced CSU in the Acrisure Invite in 2024, with Washington winning, 73-67. Medved is 1-1 against the Huskies all-time, when his then-No. 20 Rams defeated Washington, 86-81, for his 100th win at CSU in the Legends of Basketball Las Vegas Invite in 2023.
• Minnesota fell in its last contest, 67-62, to Maryland on Sunday. Isaac Asuma made a career-best 6-of-9 three pointers to tie his career-high with 18 points, but Maryland scored the final seven points to rally for a 67-62 win versus Minnesota at Williams Arena. The Gophers led 60-56 with 3:13 remaining, but Maryland closed the game on an 11-2 run.
• The Gophers scored 14 three-pointers in the game Sunday, the second-highest of the season and highest in Big Ten play. Isaac Asuma added a career-high six, while Bobby Durkin had three and Cade Tyson had two. It was the fifth time in B1G play where the Gophers had 10-plus threes in a game.
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson established his 500th career rebound on Sunday. In 94 career games, Crocker-Johnson had 181 rebounds at Little Rock, 158 at Colorado State and now 164 this season as a Gopher for 503 career rebounds. He is also at 956 career points, including 322 this season with Minnesota. He had 325 as a sophomore with CSU and 309 in 2023-24.

WINS OVER RANKED OPPONENTS
• Minnesota has three wins over ranked opponents this year. The first game in the game against Indiana (Dec. 3), when the Gophers topped then-No. 22 Hoosiers, 73-64. The Gophers added another win over a ranked opponent against then-No. 19 over Iowa, 70-67, on Jan. 6. The Gophers knocked off its highest-ranked win on Feb. 4 when they defeated then-No. 10 Michigan State, 76-73. The win over the Spartans was Minnesota's first win over a top-10 team since the 2020-21 season when it defeated then-No. 7 Michigan. The last time Minnesota defeated three-ranked opponents was also in the 2020-21 season.
