Lyden, Moraw and Ostrum were honored

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Gopher gymnasts Jordyn Lyden, Sarah Moraw and Arianna Ostrum were named to the All-Big Ten teams this afternoon, the conference announced. Jordyn Lyden and Ostrum earned first team honors while Sarah Moraw was named to the second team. Senior Brooklyn Rowray was Minnesota's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.

In addition to making the All-Big Ten First Team, Ostrum was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. The All-Big Ten and All-Freshman teams were determined based on the national qualifying scores (NQS) accumulated by student-athletes during the 2026 season.

Junior Jordyn Lyden had her best year yet to earn All-Big Ten honors for the second time in her career. Also a 2025 Second Team All-Big Ten selection, Lyden ranked in the top-15 in the conference on bars (9.877 avg., 6th), beam (9.852 avg., 4th) and floor (9.877 avg., 11th). She earned 10 total event titles (five bars, three floor, two beam), ranking second on Minnesota. Lyden hit career-bests on both beam (9.950) and floor (9.950) this season and held a season-best of 9.950 on the uneven bars. She went over 9.900 five times on bars, six times on beam and three times on floor. Twice she earned Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week honors.

Senior Sarah Moraw earned her second All-Big Ten honor in 2026. An AAI Award nominee, Moraw was a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree in 2025 and made the Big Ten All-Championships Team in 2024 after winning a share of the Big Ten Balance Beam title. This year, Moraw competed in all 11 meets, earning averages of 9.786 on vault and 9.855 on beam. She ranked 33rd nationally and seventh in the Big Ten on beam. She tied her career-high on vault with a 9.900 on senior day this year. Four times she went 9.850-or-higher on the event. On beam, she hit 9.900-or-better five times, including a season-best 9.925 at the Big 4 Meet.

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., native Arianna Ostrum became one of the biggest rising stars in the conference this year on her way to All-Big Ten First Team and Big Ten All-Freshman Team accolades. Ostrum led Minnesota with 12 event titles in 2026, including four on vault and floor, three all-around and one bars. She ranked 38th nationally (39.275 avg.) all-around, 45th on vault (9.841 avg.) and 51st on floor (9.836 avg.). In the Big Ten, she ranked eighth on vault, 11th on floor and all-around and 20th on beam. She became the second Gophers freshman and eighth all-time to earn a perfect 10 on vault when she did so on March 15. She earned 9.875-or-higher six times in 11 vaults this year.

On bars, she posted a season-high of 9.925 to win an event title on March 1. On beam, Ostrum twice reached a high of 9.925. Her floor performances had her reaching 9.900-or-better five times, including the last three meets of the year. Ostrum hit a career-best 9.975 on the event Sunday. Eight times in 11 meets Ostrum competed all-around, including the last seven meets of the year. She hit a season-best of 39.675 on March 15, winning all-around, vault and floor titles. Her 39.675 all-around score is the best in program history for a Minnesota freshman.

Brooklyn Rowray, a senior from Des Moines, Iowa, earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for Minnesota. She competed in all 11 meets for the Gophers this year, including 11 times on beam and three times on floor. She hit 9.850-or-better seven times on beam, including six scores of at least 9.900. In her last four meets, Rowray has hit 9.925 on beam each time. She ranks 41st nationally and 10th in the Big Ten with a 9.818 beam average.

No. 13 Minnesota (12-4, 7-2 B1G) competes in the Big Ten Championships this weekend in Champaign, Ill. They'll be competing against No. 5 UCLA, No. 10 Michigan and No. 11 Michigan State  Saturday night at 5 p.m. CT on BTN. The Gophers are in Session III, the top session at the championships.
