Trei Thorogood joined the Maroon and Gold track and field coaching staff as an intern in the summer of 2026 after a successful collegiate track and field career at Minnesota and Syracuse.
At Minnesota Thorogood competed at the Big Ten Championships and was also an alternate on Minnesota's 4x100m relay team that broke the Big Ten's meet record (38.44). Individually Thorogood clocked a lifetime best (all conditions) of 10.27 (+4.4 m/s) in the 100m at the Gary Wilson Invite and held a college personal best of 20.69 (+2.5 m/s) in the 200m.
At Syracuse Thorogood had a standout four-year career as a sprinter, steadily improving in the 60m, 100m and 200m. He earned Second Team All-ACC honors indoors in 2024 and 2025, including a sixth-place finish in the 60m at the 2025 ACC Championships, and earned First Team All-ACC honors outdoors in 2024 after placing third in the 100m. Thorogood also qualified for the NCAA East Prelims in the 200m in 2023 and was part of Syracuse relay teams that set school records in both the 4x100 and 4x400 at the 2023 ACC Championships. He majored in Public Health at the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse and pursued a Human Resource Development certificate at Minnesota.
