MICHALOWSKI AND HAUG COMPETE AT ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

pre-qualUniversity of Minnesota senior Martin Michalowski and sophomore Thomas Haug competed in the pre-qualifying round of the All-American Tennis Championships at the Penick- Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas, this weekend.
Michalowski, of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, lost his first round match to Henry Choi of Indiana State, 6- 4, 6-3. Haug, a native of Zurich, Switzerland, won his first match 6-1, 6-1 over Fabian Gonzalcz of the University of Texas at Arlington. Haug went on to defeat David Tzou of California, 7-6 (3), 6-0 to advance to the round of 64.
Sunday morning, Haug defeated Sean Monk of Tulsa, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the round of 32.
