MEN'S TENNIS SHINES AT ITA REGIONALS

competitJunior Jorge Duenas and freshman Harsh Mankad each won two matches on the first day of competition at the ITA Region IV men's tennis championships in Madison, Wis.

Duenas defeated Ivica Primorac of Michigan State, 4-6, 7-6, 6- 4, then defeated George McGill of Indiana, 6-1, 6-2. Mankad defeated Western Michigan's Christian Brattstrom, 6-3, 6-1, then needed three sets to defeat Michigan State's Robert Topalo, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Junior Tyson Parry won his only match of the day, defeating Danny McCain of Michigan, 3-6, 7-6, 6- 4. Sophomore Thomas Haug defeated Fernando Garcia of Western Michigan, 4-6, 7-6, 6- 2. Parry also teamed with junior Jon Svensson to defeat Gavin and Brush of Wright State in doubles, 8-2.

The ITA regional continues Saturday and Sunday.
