NO. 21 MINNESOTA DEFEATS WISCONSIN IN MEN'S TENNIS

The University of Minnesota men's tennis team defeated Wisconsin, 6-1, in Madison, Wis., this afternoon. The Golden Gophers won all six singles matches and won one doubles match, losing the other two to the Badgers.

The number one singles player for the Golden Gophers, Harsh Mankad, defeated Danny Westerman, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1. Thomas Haug defeated Wisconsin's David Chang, 6-2, 6-4 and Jorge Duenas defeated Wisconsin's Adam Shumacher, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Minnesota also received wins from Martin Michalowski, Tyson Parry and Jon Svensson.

In doubles action, Harsh Mankad and Jorge Duenas defeated Wisconsin's Baker and Rutherford, 8-4.

The Golden Gophers travel to Iowa City on Sunday to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in dual meet action.
