MANKAD FALLS IN DAVIS CUP FINALE

rep University of Minnesota junior Harsh Mankad was defeated by James Blake, 6-3, 6-0, in the final match of the Davis Cup qualifying match. Mankad represented India in the competition against the United States in Winston-Salem, N.C. The United States won all four singles matches against India and with the win, qualified for the 2002 Davis Cup.
Mankad, ranked 22nd in nation collegiately, was defeated in both of his singles matches. He was defeated by Andy Roddick on Friday afternoon. Roddick is ranked 15th in the world.
