MANKAD AND HAUG ELIMINATED IN SEMIFINALS OF REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Golden Gopher men's tennis players Harsh Mankad and Thomas Haug were both eliminated in the semifinals of the Region IV Championships in East Lansing, Mich. Mankad was the tournament's third seed, while Haug was the tournament's defending champion.

Mankad was defeated by the tournament's top seed, Amer Delic of Illinois, In a match that lasted nearly three hours, Delic prevailed 6- 7 (3), 7-6 (6), 7-6 (2). Haug was defeated in straight sets by No. 7 Danny Westerman of Wisconsin, 4-6, 4-6.

Minnesota returns to action next weekend at the UNLV Invitational.
