Smith, Morgan, Anderson Survive Cut at Scholarship America Showdown

Former University of Minnesota golfers Justin Smith, David Morgan and Matt Anderson all survived the cut at the Scholarship America Showdown in Byron, Minn. Smith fired a second round 68 for a two round total of 4-under-par 140. Smith carded seven birdies on the day and is tied with former teammate Anderson. The native of Edina, Minn., Anderson shot a 69 Friday. Morgan carded a bogey-free round of 70 to make the cut on the number. Smith and Morgan were Monday qualifiers for the event, Anderson is playing on a sponsor's exemption.
Joe Turcott leads the tournament at 13-under-par 131 by a shot over Mike Perez and two over Jeff Quinney.
The third round is tomorrow at Somerby Golf Club in Byron, Minn.
