Minnesota to Host One-Day Campus Showdown

Top local tennis players ranging from all ages and levels will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a one-day event at the University of Minnesota when the Gophers host a Campus Match Play One Day Showdown at the Baseline Tennis Center on Sun., Nov. 15.

The tournament is open to men's and women's juniors, college players, professionals and adults. Each match will be one set. Singles players will play up to four sets of singles using a compass draw, while doubles consists of a compass draw with up to three matches. Set tiebreaks up to 12 points are played at five-all in each match.

Entry fees are just $10 for singles, $5 for doubles and $15 to enter both tournaments. No officials are used and the campus match play code of conduct will be in place.

The event is a joint United States Tennis Association and Intercollegiate Tennis Association program. It is sponsored by the Minnesota men's and women's tennis teams.
