Wernet Competing In ITA All-American Championships

Senior Tobias Wernet is competing today in the D'Novo/ITA Men's Division I All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Wernet, who is ranked No. 71 in the Campbell/ITA Preseason Rankings, is the lone Gopher competing in the Oct. 4-10 event.

The Mainz, Germany, native shared the team lead in victories (20) last year with fellow senior Sebastian Gallego. He had four wins over ranked foes and reached the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships. The Gophers were 11-2 last year when Wernet won his match and 3-8 when he lost. He went 6-4 in Big Ten matches and is 21-9 in league play for his career.
