The University of Minnesota men's tennis team announced its schedule for the 2010-11 season today. The Gophers, led by fifth-year head coach Geoff Young, begin their season with six fall tournaments.

The Gophers begin the year by heading to Denver, Colo., for the Sept. 24-26 Denver Pioneer Invitational and will also compete in the Harvard Invitational, ITA/D'Novo Men's All-American Championships, ITA Regional Championships and the Big Ten Singles Championship. Minnesota concludes fall tournament play with the Nov. 12-14 Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic in Tampa, Fla.

Minnesota begins dual-match competition on Jan. 22 when it plays host to Marquette at Baseline Tennis Center. The squad's first Big Ten match is Feb. 13 at Wisconsin. The Gophers also travel to Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State for conference matches this year and host Indiana, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue.

In addition to Marquette, Minnesota's challenging non-conference schedule includes home matches with Boise State, Drake, Southern Methodist and Virginia Tech. The team will face Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, UCLA and Washington on the road this season and will contest St. Mary's and either Fresno State or Florida State at neutral sites.

Coach Young's squad finished 14-11 last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
