Bonin, Dehn Eliminated In ITA Central Region Championships

Rok Bonin and Julian Dehn won three straight doubles matches to en route to a semifinal appearance in the USTA/ITA Central Region Tennis Championships.
The third-seeded Gophers had their tournament ended right before the championship match by No. 1 overall seed Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling of Tulsa. The duo from Tulsa is ranked No. 4 in the nation and bested the No. 22 Gophers 8-2.
Bonin and Dehn have proved to be a formidable duo since pairing together last season. They were 16-1 a year ago and won the title at the Lakewood Ranch Clay Court Classic last fall. The pairing went 10-1 in dual-match action and 6-0 in Big Ten play. This year they are 3-2.
Minnesota will play in the Big Ten Singles Championships next weekend before hosting the Gopher Invitational in two weeks.
